Cinefilm has developed a new service for economical Digital Intermediates for HD or 35mm Film Outputs. Cinefilm was the first in Atlanta wtih a digital projection sutie and now offers the Assimilate Scratch system for HD/2K and 4K conform and color grading. Scratch is the first system designed to read Red Camera files natively and output HD/2K in real time.
Work Flow
Scratch can work from film or digital acquistion. For film, after picture lock (from Avid or FCP), we telecine selects via the Spirit and DaVinci 2K, digital-direct (tape-less) to uncompressed 10-bit, 1920x1080, 4:4:4 files. With Red and digital formats, we conform from your drives or HDCamSR Masters. Final correction occures in a digital theater with a 10,000:1 contrast ratio. Scratch masters HD or 2K in real time and 4K (via render).
We output to tape formats with LUTs in Rec 709HD or NTSC 601 SD. RGB color space is used for primary grading and 35mm negative output which is imaged at 4K resolutions. Film prints can be checke in our 35mm QC screening room during the final grading steps.
We also offer a second lower-cost DI suite using FCP/Color and 24" color accurate LED monitors. Your offline can be form Avid or FCP. |
