What format will my film transfer to FCP be created with and will I also get a Flexfile with the film Keycodes?
We will prepare your film transfer in any format you request as if we were transferring it to a tape format. You may request any Standard Def formats like DigiBeta, MiniDV, DVCPro 25 or 50, etc. Or you can request any HD format such as DVCPro H D, HDCam, HDCam SR, or D5. Please note if it is to be in a 24p mode or 60i and if it is 720 or 1080 resolution. Think of it as one of the standard HD tape formats, only it will be digitized to a FW drive.
You will receive one continuous, timecoded QuickTime file in the format you requested, and a copy of the Flexfile with the film Keycodes also.
What type of FW drive or format do you use?
We can accept most any brand of FW drive, but you will get better performance if your drive is a FW800 drive. Inputs to FW400 drives will take longer and cost you more money if using higher definition video codecs. Also, most drives are format free, but we can not accept drives that have been pre-formated for Windows PC for instance unless we re-format them. Remember FCP is a Mac-based system.
